A well-made rug is designed to last for years, but proper care will help it maintain its beauty and structure over time. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your Forma Strata rug looking its best.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
UNWRAP ONCE DELIVERED
Unwrap your Forma Strata rug once it's delivered. This will help to reduce creases and other marks from shipping, and allow the yarn to expand and adjust.
VACUUMING RECOMMENDATIONS
Vacuum on low power and use a flat nozzle attachment. Vacuuming on high power or with a rotating brush head or brushed attachment can damage the rug.
WET STAINS
Treat stains immediately. Avoid bleach or strong alkaline cleaners. Blot rather than rub. Use mild, colorless soap with lukewarm water. Avoid over-wetting to prevent shrinking.
DRY STAINS
For dried stains, gently lift off the residue with a dull tool (like a spoon) and then vacuum up the loose particles.
SHEDDING
Light shedding is normal, especially initially. This is natural for quality wool and diminishes over time with regular vacuuming.
POP-OUTS
Emerging yarns can be trimmed with scissors or tucked back into the pile without damaging the rug. Never pull them.
SUN EXPOSURE
Use window coverings or rotate the rug periodically to minimize fading from direct sunlight.
PRESSURE MARKS
Heavy furniture can cause permanent indentation. Consider using furniture pads or rotating your rug periodically.
